HTC Corporation, has launched the HTC Wildfireâ„¢, an Androidâ„¢ 2.1 powered HTC Sense featured Smartphone.
London, England, UK – June 9, 2010 (PressReleasePivot) — HTC Corporation, the Taiwan based global designer of smartphones has launched the HTC Wildfireâ„¢, a new HTC Sense-based Android phone which brings friends closer to you through integration of the popular social networks.
HTC Wildfire follows the HTC Desire making the HTC Sense experience accessible to a younger generation. The HTC Desire will be sought-after as it’s one of the most powerful, best spec’d and impressive devices to date. The Wildfire features the same metallic panel as on the HTC HD2 in the center and an optical trackpad right in the center, below the screen making usage a smooth and easy experience. Though the display isn’t OLED, it feels large at 3.2 inches, with QVGA resolution.
Typing, both in landscape or portrait modes are much easier than on smaller-screened devices. Getting over the resistive touch screen featured on the Tattoo, the capacitive touch screen is great for viewing and sharing photos and for surfing the internet. HTC Wildfire enables 3G browsing experience with HSDPA 7.2 mbps. It is also supported very well by Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and class 10 GPRS and EDGE. The other prominent features of HTC Wildfire include Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, microUSB v2.0.
Speaking at the launch of the HTC Wildfire (http://www.dialtosave.co.uk/mobile/mobile-phones/HTC/Wildfire/), Florian Seiche, Vice President, HTC EMEA said, “Today’s social networks provide an essential forum for friendship with more than 400 million users* – many of whom are young adults – actively sharing their lives with their friends through Facebook. HTC Wildfire makes the HTC Sense experience available to young mobile users for the first time. It brings all your communications into one place, whether it’s through Facebook, Twitter, text messages, images or email, ensuring that you are never far away from the conversation and always close to your friends.â€
The Wildfire operates on Android 2.1 which can be upgraded to 2.2 Froyo which means there are all the bells and whistles of the Legend and Desire, including Friend Stream, animated wallpapers and better Exchange functionality. The HTC Wildfire has the ability to share your downloaded applications with friends through the App sharing widget built into the Wildfire through the social networks or via email or text.
The HTC Wildfire is a budget phone designed for those who want a smartphone but can’t afford expensive devices such as the Legend or Desire. The HTC Wildfire comes with a 5-megapixel camera with flash, which performs on par with the flagship HTC Android devices. The processor is speedy, despite only being Qualcomm’s MSM 7200A 528 MHz processor. The drawbacks of other HTC phones like the Tattoo have been rectified with the HTC’s Wildfire and it really does bring HTC into the budget Android market, though it is not short of features. The new HTC Wildfire deals (http://www.dialtosave.co.uk/mobile/mobile-phones/HTC/Wildfire/Pay+Monthly/) will be broadly available to customers across major European and Asian markets from Q3 2010.
